No ip mac 10 5 dns not updating updating tomtom 125
2 computers I have running 10.5.2 both will not automatically update when their IP address changes. They are both connected right to the internet..routers involved. Sometimes for their particular host, they see the address has changed, but don't update it to the dyndns servers. Yeah, it's lame (I'm a mac user personally) but sometimes the daemon is pretty aggressive about sticking around.Other times they don't see the address as changed, and don't update. Especially if you are upgrading from a previous version. Apple Airport Extreme..naturally I was given an new IP address.I've trashed all preference files, uninstalled the daemon, trashed cache files and can't get them to work. Generally it just works but something seems to be up. This new address was not reflected in the DNS Updater software ...using the web detection setting..was it reflected when I logged into my account page at The blob circle to the left of the host name is not green (yellow i think)Only way i can get it to work is if i manually update by unchecking then rechecking "Enable updating for this host" or by hitting "Refresh"Please help. We are trying to find a way to reproduce it but so far to no avail.Since it happens on 2 computers it's gotta be a bug. If that fails, write in to support with your config information and log file so we can help you out. I had to do an manual update from the web site to get it to work. Installed in new Macbook with Leopard and all updates. I can not manually update it due to being about 7000 miles away from the computer and rarely having one around it there. The daemon doesn't update until I disable/enable the host in the client window. The 'Interface' drop-down box shows the correct IP (using Web-based IP detection), but Status: shows the old IP (the IP shown in status is the one actually assigned, pinging my dyndns address verifies this). It works fine on my machine (10.5.2) and I am guessing for most users.No-IP Updater is used with No-IP.com's free DNS service. This client keeps your IP address in sync with a specific DNS host name, provided by This is helpful for users wanting to run a Web/FTP server on their home computer.Top 4 Download periodically updates software information of No-IP DUC (Dynamic DNS Update Client) for Mac 3.1.5 full version from the publisher, but some information may be slightly out-of-date.
IP detection and manual update as described above work fine, but the daemon doesn't seem to launch correctly upon boot. Refresh does nothing, Status still shows the old IP. We are going to check in with the developer and find what we could do to get some more information from each of you.I have to pause the daemon, then resume, then refresh to get it to change. Dyn DNS Updater 2.1 will not update the server w/ my IP address when it changes. It's never happened before 2.x and Leopard so what gives? I'm using a Speedstream 6100 DSL modem set in bridged ethernet mode connected to an Air Port Extreme 802.11n base station as the main router using PPPo E. Come to think of it, even when I went to the dyndns website and changed the IP the Update software still showed the old IP in Status... I have to manually update the IP address to the server like the others here.
